Cleaning with "Ultrasonic Cleaner"

As we know the microbial threats that exist in laboratory & medical practice as of today, All Medical Professionals must have a good basic knowledge about the process of sterilization. Cleaning and decontamination of suitable surgical instruments with an ultrasound tank is a relevant step in the "Cleaning Process". This procedure plays a vital role not just in terms of patient protection against infections but in terms of protection of the medical/hospital staff involved in the handling of the surgical instruments.

So how does ultrasonic cleaning work?
Ultrasonic Cleaning is a safe and efficient modern procedure which ensures perfect cleaning within the shortest possible time. It has many advantages over ordinary cleaning methods. Ultrasonic waves can remove even the most firm deposits from parts which would be difficult to reach by hand; it also reduces the risk of infection which may occur during manual cleaning. Ultrasounds are vibrations of a material medium which are similar to sound waves, but at frequencies which are too high to be audible to the human ear. The frequency limit of human hearing ranges from around 10 kHz to approximately 18 kHz. Ultrasonic cleaning units usually operate at frequencies between 35 ~60 kHz.
The ultrasonic cleaning mechanism consists of an ultrasonic generator which produces ultrasonic vibrations within a cleaning solution (liquid) at a frequency of around 45,000 oscillations per second. These micro-vibrations within the liquid create microscopic bubbles by cavitations. The bubbles then implode and generate acoustic shock energy which removes even the most deep-seated dirt, particularly from parts that traditional cleaning methods cannot reach.
